Who stole my brain?

by Melody on June 20, 2012

Things I have done in the last 2 days:

  • Packed a picnic lunch for the boys and I to eat at the library.  Set a fork next to my salad in the fridge while I got everything else ready to go.  Grabbed everything out of the fridge, left the fork.
  • Headed out to run errands one morning, packed up the boys, their gear, snacks, my stuff.  Brought a bag of produce I was going to drop off to a friend in the middle of our errands.  Left it sitting in the driveway.
  • Tried in vain to lock my car door, pushing the button over and over on my key ring.  Turns out I left the passenger door wide open.
  • Got new matching canisters for the pantry, ran out of tape in my label maker so didn’t label everything.  No big deal, I know what our foods are.  Measured out and cooked my quinoa for the week, only to go to fluff it at the end and find out it is steel cut oats.

2 days.  What is wrong with me?  I’m not particularly stressed, my kids are napping and sleeping well.  What is lurking in my brain?  Have all intelligent thoughts been replaced with fuzz and pretty little rainbows.  Sheesh.

Please tell me I’m not the only one.  Share your crazy stories.  Make me feel better.

Ok…now that I’ve read this post I feel ok telling you that the friend you so graciously took the produce to this morning just realized she FORGOT IT AT THE PARK. I guess I now owe Mike two six packs and I owe you a reusable bag….I’m so embarrassed! I give you permission to unfriend me immediately.

Have you taken a pregnancy test? 🙂

Ha! I thought of that this morning when I tried to put a dirty dish under the sink instead of in the dishwasher. It’s fairly close to impossible. 🙂

My thought was exactly the same as Annie’s! 😉

Seriously the perfect post for me!
Here’s a list of the crazy things I did yesterday.

Realized while drying off from my morning shower that it was only 3:15AM, not 6:15 AM (so not a morning person!)

Tried to tackfully explain to my 80 year old grandma that she forgot to give me $30 for a prescription that I picked up for her, only to later find the cash in my kitchen garbage can (seriously…who does that?!)

Couldn’t figure out why my kitchen was so much hotter than the rest of the house until I discovered that I left my oven on since last night’s dinner. (maybe that’s the reason my house came with 2 smoke alarms in the kitchen!)

I’m sure in a few days I will be laughing at all of this, but for now I’m irritated and a bit embarrssed.
You are not alone, Melody!!!
