This Beautiful Frugal Life’s new recipe guru

by Melody on June 13, 2011

Please help me welcome Jessie to This Beautiful Frugal Life.  She is the author of Bites and has blessed my family with so many delicious recipes, several of which I have shared with you already.

She will be posting a recipe every week for all of you based around seasonal ingredients, holidays or just her favorite dishes.  I am so excited that she is willing to share her expertise and fabulous recipes with us.

Please leave your feedback on recipes you decide to make or have made in the past.  All of these recipes will be found under the Recipes tab along the top menu bar, so your comments will be so helpful to others looking to make the same dishes.

I asked Jessie to write a little bit about herself:

My husband and I have enjoyed cooking together for the blissful 7 years that we’ve been married.  We love to try new recipes, so early on in our marriage we started trying to make notes on which ones we loved, wanted to change the next time, etc.

Shortly after we moved from Arizona to Seattle (5 years ago), we conceived and I started forgetting everything.  Hello pregnancy brain!  So, once my son James was born, I started my food blog as a way to help me remember which recipes were keepers and which were not.  Fast forward three years and now my Bites blog has over 500 hundred recipes and we have a fourth member of the family- our daughter Saisha who will turn 2 in September.

My husband and kids are great guinea pigs and gracefully eat the food I make, despite the occasional bomb. Mushy and oversalted corned beef and cabbage anyone??

In addition to being an everyday home cook, I love planning new adventures around Seattle for my family, photography, reading a good book (why am I constantly finding myself in the teen fiction section of the library?), traveling to new places, playing tour guide for visiting friends and family and eating anything with Nutella in it.

Welcome to This Beautiful Frugal Life Jessie!
