TBFL Fitness Challenge: How are you going to spend the month of December?

Are you thinking about your New Year’s resolutions yet?  Thinking about the inevitable pounds you will put on over the month of December?  All those holiday parties, desserts, pies, cakes and cookies?  The weather is colder, so you lose your motivation to run or walk.  Curling up on the couch with a mug of hot chocolate and a good book sounds far better than working up a sweat?

Here’s my challenge to you.  Don’t wait for January.  Do it now.  Fight those extra pounds.  Don’t give in.  I promise you, I WILL eat cake.  I will bake some delicious cookies.  I will have some amazing holiday drinks.  But I will also work out and work out and work out.  I fight.

My husband and I started seriously working out almost 2 years ago and minus a few bumps in the road, have really stuck with it.  We finally found out for ourselves that being fit and healthy and confident is much more fun than feeling frumpy and tired and insecure.  We have tried several different work out programs and exercise routines over the course of these 2 years and we have learned that flexibility and shaking up the routine is key.  Doing the same thing over and over won’t help your motivation or your body.

It turns out that sharing our success stories and what has worked for us along the way is almost more fun.  Being fit and healthy is infectious and it’s amazingly amazing to bring people along for the ride.

What is really fantastic about this journey is that there is always The Next Step.  Somebody is always out there waiting to bring YOU along for the ride.  While my husband and I have mainly worked out at home, we knew we needed to shake things up a bit.  A good friend of mine has been “subtly” hinting for months that we try out her CrossFit gym and we finally took the plunge.  Warning: Do not try CrossFit unless you are ready to be a lifer.  It is amazing and motivating and inspiring and hard and effective and brilliant.

Our gym offers a free introductory class every Friday, which was really educational and enough to get us super interested.  If you live in the Tri-Cities, check out Natural Selection CrossFit and come to a class.  Every skill level is welcome.  If you don’t live in the area, ask around.  Ask your friends,  neighbors, preschool Moms.  Find a gym using this CrossFit locator.

I recently started Insanity again with my sister;) i started last week, I’m not a yearly resolution kind a girl, I want to stay fit all year long ! Thank you for your motivation. love seeing results to our hard work. Happy holidays to Hansen’s Family.
