It’s sunny in Seattle this week! It’s starting to feel like spring is here and summer is just around the corner.
One of the highlights of our summer is supplementing our garden and Full Circle Farms produce box with fresh produce from the farmer’s market in our neighborhood. I love supporting local farmers and including my kids in the process of picking out the vegetables and fruit we enjoy.
Since the weather is warming up and the produce is starting to be available, many of the Seattle Neighborhood Farmers Markets are starting to open. We thought it might be helpful for you to see the opening dates and which are available to shop at now.
- University District (Saturdays, 9am-2pm, Year-round)
- West Seattle (Sundays, 10am-2pm, Year-round)
- Broadway (April 21 – Dec 22, 2013)
- Columbia City (May 1 – October 16)
- Phinney (opens June 7, 2013)
- Lake City (opens June 20, 2013)
- Magnolia (opens June 1, 2013)
Which farmer’s markets do you love in your neighborhoods? We’d love to hear about your favorites and how you get affordable and local produce.
Make sure and check out Jessie’s recent review of Bountiful Baskets Food Co-op and her yummy recipe for Shredded Brussels Sprouts. She’s been very happy with the quality and quantity of produce she gets for the price. Bountiful Baskets is available in select areas all over the U.S.
