Hulu Plus is offering a free 2-week trial of their services. Basically, Hulu Plus allows you to watch all your favorite TV shows including complete series of current and past shows on several different devices. You can use a connected TV, most video game consoles or your phone or tablet. We bought a Roku box last year and can stream Hulu Plus (along with several other options, including Amazon Prime Instant Video).
After your 2-week trial, you will be charged $7.99 per month unless you cancel. This would be a great service to try out if there are any of you who have been thinking about canceling your cable subscription. We actually canceled our cable last year, but almost immediately got it back. I won’t bore you with the details, but it involved several blacked-out Mariners games and a very frustrated husband.
I really think canceling your cable is a very viable option to save money. There are so many different services out there, like Hulu Plus, that can make the transition a little easier. Depending on how much TV you watch and what you think you would really miss, this may be an option for you. We actually found that without TV, we didn’t really miss it. We just did other stuff instead of sitting in front of the TV all evening. Like read books. Or talk.
I’d love to hear your feedback on Hulu, or any other service like this. Have you canceled cable? We don’t watch many weekly or recurring shows, the only thing we had a hard time with was the live sports. We ordered the MLB package so we could watch all the games through our Roku box, but our local games were blacked out. Go figure.
Thanks In Good Cents!
