I headed out to Albertsons this afternoon to try my hand at the ConAgra catalina promotion.  It went off without a hitch.  Sometimes on the first day of a promo, there are problems with catalinas printing, but not today!

(2) Angel Soft 12 double roll $5.99
(2) Orville Redenbacher popcorn $1.89
(2) Peter Pan peanut butter $1.99
Snapple tea 6-pack $4.99
Hunt’s diced tomatoes $1

Subtotal: $25.73
– (2) $1/1 cheddar cheese or spicy nacho Orville Redenbachers printable
– $1/2 Peter Pan peanut butter (ConAgra home mailer)
(2) .50/1 Angel Soft (5-23 RP)
Will submit for full mail-in rebate for Snapple ($4.99)
Paid $16.74 out of pocket + received $10 catalina!

* I actually had $10 in catalinas from last week’s dairy promotion, so my total out of pocket was only $6.74!

My friend Emilie was so sweet to grab me two extra copies of the Snapple rebate tear pad from her local Albertsons in Seattle.  I haven’t been able to find them anywhere over here!

So… I have two rebates to give away to two lucky winners.  You can purchase your tea this week during the promotion and you have until the end of July to send in the rebate.  This giveaway will run for 24 hours only, so I can choose the winners before we head into the hospital Friday morning.  All you have to do is leave a comment on this post with your favorite way to save money on items that we don’t generally find coupons for (ie produce, fresh meat, etc).  Please make sure I have a valid email address, either in your blog profile or in your comment.

This giveaway will end on Thursday June 10th at 9 PM PST.  Once I choose a winner, you will have 24 hours to respond with your contact information or I will choose a new winner.

Good luck!

I look around marked down meats and red banded bananas.

I buy some items at Costco when I can't find coupons for them, or I try to use the occasional time I get overage to buy things like produce.

In the summertime I grow my own produce! :) I preserve it too for year round use. But I still need to buy some fresh!

I'll buy things in bulk when they are on sale or go to Grocery Outlet for other good deals!

I found a produce co-op called bountiful baskets. We get a basket every week for 16.50 and it saves us a ton of money on produce. You should check it out.

Safeway's half off meat and dairy!

I like to peruse the discounted meats at Safeway and Yokes. I like to buy ground turkey or beef at a big discount and then cook it & freeze in 1 lb bags. Then it's ready to go!

I have a big garden and buy meat directly from local farms.
