Review: Totally Together Planner {Emilie’s Edition}

by Emilie on October 9, 2013

A few weeks ago, we gave away two copies of Totally Together: Shortcuts to an Organized Life ($10.71 @Amazon). Stephanie O’Dea, the author, is the amazing lady behind Crockpot 365 and it’s obvious she runs her home well. I was excited to get a copy and see how it could help me streamline things around my not so organized house.

There are several things I loved about the book, like her super simple tips on just leaving your home cleaner and more organized. One of the highlights for me was her planning ideas for big things like meal planning, getting the kids to help clean (ack! I’m terrible at this!) and Christmas prep.

She puts a timeline in her “Winter Holiday Preparation Guide” that is amazing. She suggests starting your planning eight months ahead and I’m pretty certain that if I follow this to a tee I can be stress-free for the entire month of December. Is that even possible? Last year I spent every day of the month laboring over my “Homemade Christmas” that almost sent me to the looney bin.  This Christmas I will be making nothing, so my husband and kids don’t disown me and I don’t shed as many tears over my sewing machine.

Make it Fast

I’m hoping to check out her cookbook “More Make it Fast, Cook it Slow” ($15.47 @ Amazon) next. It sounds amazing! She has some great recipes.

You can read Melody’s recent review here  also for more insights in to why we love this planner.

Thanks again to Stephanie for offering books to our readers the last couple of years! We love sharing our favorite items to our lucky winners.
