Welcome South Hills MOPS friends!

by Melody on January 10, 2013

A huge welcome to all you fabulous Moms.  Thank you so much for asking me to speak today and I really hope you came away with some valuable information to start (or continue) incorporating healthier eating habits into your lifestyle.  There was so much information to cram in to such a short time, but I hope what I had to say at least got you thinking of how you can trim your family’s budget.

If you are new, please remember you can always ask for help!  Everyone has to start somewhere.  We have a really helpful little online community here.  Leave comments on specific posts with questions or email me at beautifulfrugallife@gmail.com.

You can easily subscribe to my blog (for free) through various methods.  In the top right corner of the blog, you can choose to subscribe via email (get daily updates), Twitter (automatically updates with every post), Facebook (time-sensitive deals) or RSS feed (continually updates).

Here are a few links to things we talked about:

A few of the resources we discussed:

  • King Corn – Available for free for Amazon Prime members or $2.99 to rent for non-members
  • Food, Inc. – Same as King Corn for options
  • Real Food by Nina Planck

You can also check out my “Getting Started” posts through the tab on the top navigation bar.  You can find more in-depth information about our monthly budget, recipes and ideas for meal planning.

Each month when the Costco home mailer comes in the mail, I trek on in and write down all the prices for the sale items and do a pretty extensive write-up.  I include comparisons to smaller sized packages (per ounce, per pound) and let you know what I think is a good deal.  For the home mailer that is running through January 27th, click here.

I currently write up some really extensive coupon match ups for Rite Aid over Frugal Living NW.  If you are interested at all in saving some serious money on your household items, make sure to check out my weekly deals.  For all the information you need to start shopping at Rite Aid, check out the Rite Aid Store Guide I wrote up.

For more information about Zaycon Foods (chicken, bacon, ham, sausage, fish and ground beef delivered from Spokane), sign up for an account here.  I will post on the blog when they are coming to town, but you can sign up for an email notification as well.

Last but not at all least, if you are on Pinterest you can follow me here.

I had a lot of fun talking with you today.  I wish I could have talked for hours, this is such a big topic.  There are so many different avenues to explore, it’s hard to touch on all of it in one short time frame.  Thank you again for including me in your meeting today.  Good luck on your journey!
