I was contacted recently by a friend of mine whose coworker’s family was seriously affected by a recent apartment fire in Kennewick. They lost absolutely everything and she is recovering from her second stroke and just got out of the hospital a few weeks ago. She also has a 3-year old daughter who is starting preschool soon and they had just been shopping for clothes for school, which are lost as well.
They are in need of everything right now. The little girl wears size 3T or 4T and really needs some clothes for school, plus needs items for this coming winter (jackets, gloves, long sleeve shirts). The mom has nothing either, but as she is mostly bedridden, needs a few lounge-type items (sweats, comfortable shirts) in size 2XL.
Anything you could donate would be helpful. I know as coupon shoppers, we tend to have an excess in our toiletry stockpile, especially the basics like toothpaste, shampoo, soap. Any household items or even non-perishable foods would be appreciated to help this family get back on their feet.
If you would like to donate, the Center for Excellence in Dermatology (Dr. Hopp) is accepting donations at their office. They are located off of Gage Boulevard in Kennewick (street number 8901). Please let me know if you have any questions. I know the family would be so appreciative of anything you can spare!

Do you know the girl’s shoe size? I might have some of my daughter’s old ones to spare if she has grown out of them.
I’m finding out for you and will let you know as soon as I hear. Thanks so much!
Shoe size is a toddler six, just found out this afternoon.
Thanks – will try to find some to send over there.
Thanks for letting us know Melody. I’ll take a box of Kaylee’s clothes down today. =0)
Thanks Stephanie, I know it will be much appreciated!
