Giveaway: $60 credit to Hair by Joey in North Seattle (haircuts, color, highlights)

by Melody on June 12, 2012

Our very own Jessie recently got her hair done at a private hair salon in North Seattle and recommended that we come up with a great giveaway for all of you.  Hair by Joey is located in the Maple Leaf neighborhood of North Seattle and was designed for your ultimate comfort and relaxation.  The salon is influenced by Eastern spas, with the colors, lights, smells and music.  The pictures are fantastic!  He offers haircuts, color and highlights and the testimonials are amazing.

From Jessie: I’ve been looking for a stylist in Seattle since I moved here 5 years ago and he’s totally the one! I loved the cut and color (he listened really well to what I wanted), I love that it was in north Seattle, so there was no difficulty with parking. I looooved his massage chair (one of the fancy shmancy Sharper Image kinds).

He even offers Express Services, which I think is a really unique feature.  You can save on a haircut by skipping the shampoo or take advantage of his Take-Out Color.  Your service is basically completed after your color/foils are put in and you take them out yourself at home.

What a great way to maintain your hair style/color without breaking the bank.  Genius!  I can’t imagine what people would think if you pulled up next to them with your hair in foils.  Priceless.

For all new customers, mention This Beautiful Frugal Life when you call to make an appointment and you will receive 15% off your service.

What do I win?

Hair by Joey has very generously offered one lucky reader a $60 credit to use at the salon.  You can use it to get your hair cut or put towards the cost of a color or highlights.

To enter the giveaway:

STEP ONE: Subscribe via email by entering your email address in the box below. You will receive a daily round-up of all the great deals and fun posts found here at This Beautiful Frugal Life. Leave a comment below that you subscribed.  If you already subscribe, just leave a comment that you do and skip to step two.

STEP TWO: Leave a comment and let us know what you would use your credit for.  Would you keep it for yourself or give it to a friend, family member?  How long has it been since you did what you really want with your hair?

Please make sure your email address is correct in your comment as this is the only method I have to contact you.

This giveaway will end on Sunday June 17th at 8 PM PST.  Once I choose a winner, you will have 24 hours to respond with your contact information.

Good luck!  Don’t forget, if you are a new customer to Hair by Joey, mention This Beautiful Frugal Life and you will receive 15% off your choice of service.

I live in Pasco, so I would probably give it to my friend from Seattle area, or take a weekend trip over there to use it myself.

Jentry Day June 12, 2012 at 3:11 pm

Just subscribed and I would selfishly use the credit for myself :)

Rebekah Allen June 12, 2012 at 4:01 pm

I would use it for myself as I have not gotten my hair cut or highlighted since last August, it is just not in the budget. I am in a wedding June 30th, so it would be perfect timing!

Brandi B June 12, 2012 at 4:50 pm

I already subscribe to BFL

Brandi B June 12, 2012 at 4:57 pm

I would use it for myself. I usually go and get the bare minimum done at the salon because I don’t want to pay a ton. So, I would wait a few months until I need another cut and do something different!

Chelsea June 12, 2012 at 6:43 pm

I live close to this salon and would love to try it out. I am 7 months pregnant and have a busy 18 month old at home, sitting down for a haircut sounds absolutely divine!

Chelsea June 12, 2012 at 6:44 pm

I subscribe!

I would use the credit for myself. As a stay at home mom, it is a definite added expense to keep up with a hair style, so this would be a huge blessing!

KATE June 13, 2012 at 7:27 pm

I would use it myself! The neglect is obvious now and I would love to look normal again!

I would use it myself! It has been far too long since I did anything with my hair!

I would use it to help tame my massive mane of curly hair! And for the hour or two to relax, of course :)

Sarah June 13, 2012 at 10:04 pm

I would use it for myself as I rarely treat myself to a cut.

linda lee June 13, 2012 at 10:08 pm

I would use it for myself !! It would be great treat for me as birthday gift.

Julia June 13, 2012 at 10:11 pm

I love Joey! I had been going to him for years & then moved out of the city. But I have been thinking about driving up just to have him cut & color my hair because I have never found anyone who take the time to really understand what I want & then blow me away by the results!

Bryn June 13, 2012 at 10:12 pm

I subscribed and I would get my hair cut. It has been 5+ months and it is time!

Lori June 13, 2012 at 10:12 pm

I just signed up. I’m long overdue for a haircut and would love to go to a ‘big city’ salon for the first time. Thanks for posting this great offer.

Kristin June 13, 2012 at 10:20 pm

I can’t believe it’s taken me this long to subscribe!
Although it’s temping to use this discount for myself, I’d give it to my mom, because the last time she had a fancy haircut was, well, I can’t remember. She’s been a Great Clips frequenter and sadly, we all know how those cuts end up. My mom’s hair is begging for a fancy cut!

Kim June 13, 2012 at 10:22 pm

Just subscribed :-) I would definitely use it on myself as I’m looking for a new stylist.

Sarah June 13, 2012 at 10:46 pm

I would love to win this – I am so bad at doing things for me…so I would use this on myself and actually get a sitter :)

I would use this for myself. I, too, recently moved to the area and have yet to find a stylist. I haven’t had a haircut in months!

Blaze June 14, 2012 at 12:33 am

Great giveaway! I would love to use this on myself for a much needed summer haircut! My hair has been in the middle of my back for over two years now – maybe time for something new!

Angela June 14, 2012 at 3:21 am

I just subscribed. It would be great to have a new look. I’m not adventureous with my hair as it grows slowly. I think I’ve had basically the same cut for the past 15 years. Joey does great work, so I’d be willing to try a new look.

amanda June 14, 2012 at 6:53 am

I just subscirbed and I would use it for myself. I have not had a good hair cut in way too long and am in need of one.

Eryn Geokezas June 14, 2012 at 7:32 am

I would totally use it myself ;-) What mom that hasn’t had her hair cut at a decent salon in years wouldn’t?

Adelle Grant June 14, 2012 at 9:10 am

A massage chair while getting your hair done?!! I would definitely be using this as a chance to relax and get some time to breathe away from my sweet little munchkins.

Sara Harris June 14, 2012 at 9:32 am

I would use it on myself. I haven’t had my hair cut since September, and will be returning to work after 5 years of being home, as a third grade teacher. It would be nice to go back to the classroom with a fresh cut and style!

Cari June 14, 2012 at 2:30 pm

I would use it for some caramel highlights! Yum.

stephanie C June 14, 2012 at 2:53 pm

I would use it all on me! I really need a haircut :)

Kim C June 14, 2012 at 4:59 pm

I am a working mom of a three year old. Two things have kept me from getting my haircut in the last two years: #1- Budget & #2-Time. UGH! I need help so if I won the credit would be for me. Because God knows I need it! Thank you for the chance.

Hayley June 14, 2012 at 5:36 pm

I subscribed. I would keep it for a haircut for myself.

Angela Armstrong June 14, 2012 at 7:38 pm

I am currently looking for natural haircare products. I would use it for myself to get awesome, healthy, natural products!

Amy June 14, 2012 at 10:04 pm

I already subscribe and love your blog!

Since having 3 kids and one on the way I have noticed some greys popping out…maybe I’d try coloring my hair for the first time since that foolish mistake in highschool when I did my own hair with semi-perm color that lasted a whole year! Thank you!
