Costco: Home Mailer Coupon Matchups (6/14 – 7/8)

by Melody on June 12, 2012

The new Costco coupon mailer starts this Thursday June 14th.  I ran in to the store this week to check on prices for you, here are some of my favorites.  These prices were gathered from my local store, so your prices may vary slightly.

Be sure to check your store for local entertainment deals.  My store had discounted Silverwood and Triple Play tickets, plus they always have discounted movie tickets and much more.

If you are visiting from Frugal Living NW, welcome!  Be sure to follow me on Facebook or subscribe via email, as I post about Costco deals each month and periodically throughout the month.

There are quite a few beauty/health items in the mailer as well.  I checked on a few of the prices, but saw nothing that I thought was worth mentioning.  Be sure to check out your mailer to see if there is anything I missed that you use in your household.

What will I be picking up?

There aren’t a ton of household items that we are getting low on right now, so I won’t be getting much in that department.  I will however, make about 72 trips for Goldfish crackers.  Those are one of the rare snacks that my kids get that isn’t fruit or vegetables and I’ll buy them at the everyday price, so you can bet I’ll be stocking up.  I may also snag some graham crackers, at that price I can squeeze in a few s’mores sessions.  Or just eat them myself.

You can read all about my favorite things to pick up at Costco here.

I recently updated my Pantry/Household Stock-Up List with tons of Costco prices.  If you are looking for a specific price or looking to compare a Costco price with what I consider a stock-up price, definitely check out the list.

What will you be picking up this month?

I always want to believe the sun chip coupons are better then sales at costco – however this weekend Albertsons has them at 4.99 for a 20 pack (its on the 3 day sale) which is 25 cents (yes it doesn’t save you a ton!) so I think I’ll stock up there – I long for being ok with just ditching the 50 cents and getting it at costco.. :) Gold fish though…

That’s funny and I totally get it! It took me a LONG time to get there, to be okay with spending a few extra cents on something just to avoid an extra trip. It used to be painful, but I can now see the benefits of not dragging the kids to one. more. store. :)

Annie, the gas you spend driving to Albertsons isn’t worth the fifty cents… Plus Costco is a good company to buy from. You can do it! ;-)

Melody, I am fairly new to couponing (a couple months) and I have 3 kids 6,3,7mths so lots of stores heck even 2 stores can be too much. Do you find it saves to just price match at walmart and shop winco? vs going to albertsons (pray they haven’t ran out) and rite aid and walgreens and safeway etc. not that i do that but as you mentioned it is starting to seem worth paying a little more to just go one place like winco or walmart and be done. All though I will always be a target lover and they are super coupon friendly.

I don’t do a whole lot of Winco and Walmart shopping, but I do tend to narrow it down quite a bit. I rarely shop at Albertsons, instead choose to do the bulk of my shopping at Fred Meyer, with 1-2 monthly Costco trips thrown in. We get a ton of fresh produce from our CSA, a weekly produce drop and the farmer’s market so that cuts out grocery store trips.

As far as couponing, I generally do Rite Aid once per week to save on my toiletry and health care items and that seems to be enough. If it’s feeling overwhelming, I would definitely narrow it down to one or two coupon stores. If you like Target, try to hit it once a week to pick up the best deals and ignore everything else. I truly ignore all Walgreens deals, most Target deals, Safeway and mostly Albertsons. It’s just easier to not be tempted if I don’t look. :)

The black bean burgers are soooo good. They are a splurge item for me. I love to top it with some sour cream and homemade guacamole. Pair with a salad and you got a fast dinner!

If you find it a bit maddening to follow the daily fluctuations of the scale even though you are eating
properly, pick three days of the week on which you will
always weigh yourself (for example, Monday, Wednesday, and Friday).

Anyone who dares to make a closer inspection will find the underlying difference.

Expect to lose all that extra flabbiness as you melt off all your unwanted fat.
