Fred Meyer: Saving money the easy way

by Melody on May 15, 2012

I literally look forward to shopping the Fred Meyer Founder’s Day sale every year.  They have consistently fantastic prices on a great selection of items that we use in our house every single day.

I just wanted to share my trip today, since just about any average shopper could replicate it.  No crazy transactions and only two manufacturer coupons used.  This is where knowing your stock-up prices for your household can really make a difference.  For example, I have quite a bit of butter in my freezer, but $1.67/pound for Tillamook butter is WAY below my stock-up price.  So I stocked up.

The only thing I picked up that was not in the ad was a gallon of milk on clearance for just $1.49!  I’m going to use it to try Jessie’s fabulous Yogurt in the Crockpot.

For everything in the picture above, I spent just about $40, including 4 loaves of bread, butter, organic strawberries, toilet paper and much more.  My sweet cashier even accidentally double-charged me for the bananas.  However, at this point, my kids were trying to plank the conveyor belt and punch each other in the head so I didn’t notice.

Have you shopped Fred Meyer this week?  If you missed this week’s deals, check out my full match ups here.
