Update: The price of this has changed.
Amazon has the OK to Wake! Owl with Night-light, Music and Nap Timer for just $24.89, down from $32.95. We have the other version of the OK to Wake! clock and it rarely goes below $30.
The main difference I can see between this clock and the one our family has (they are made by the same company) is that your child can press the owl’s tummy and it will play soothing music and has four phrases it says, each according to how close to wake-up time it is.
Here’s my review of the clock we have, which seems to have all the same features as the owl:
“This clock was an absolute life-saver for our family. Our then 2-year old was struggling with his sleeping schedule after his little brother was born. He was newly potty-trained, which threw another wrench in the plans. He was constantly in and out of his bed, up in the middle of the night, trying to sleep with us, falling asleep on the living room floor, fighting naps. We were at our wit’s end.
You can set this clock to turn green at a certain time in the morning, so your kids know when it is time to “wake up”. We struggled for a week or so, taking him back and forth to his room until the clock turned green. After about a week, something just clicked and he learned to stay in his room. No more 5 o’clock or middle of the night wake up calls! He would come out of his room with his clock glowing green and was so thrilled with himself.
You can also use the clock for nap time, especially if your kiddo just has quiet time now. If our son is struggling to go to sleep, I just set his clock for an hour or so and he knows to stay in his room and read until the clock tells him he can come out. I can’t promise you that this will always work, but it has truly been a blessing for everyone in our family.”
