Costco: Home Mailer Coupon Matchups: 3/8 – 4/1

by Melody on March 6, 2012

The new Costco coupon mailer starts this Thursday March 8th.  I ran in to the store this week to check on prices for you and here are some of my favorites.  These prices were gathered from my local store, so your prices may vary slightly.

There are so many items in the coupon booklet this month, I may have missed a few good deals.  Please leave a comment if you see anything worth mentioning.

{INSTANT SAVINGS DEALS}
*Your savings will come off automatically, no coupons required

Kirkland Signature Baby Wipes (900 ct) on sale $15.99 (limit 2)
*Around 1.8 cents per wipe, my stock-up price is $.02/wipe or less

Ninja Kitchen System on sale $94.99 (limit 5)

Canon Powershot ELPH 100 HS Digital Camera on sale $119.99 (limit 3)

Duracell Batteries (AA 40 ct or AAA 24 ct) on sale $11.99 (AA) or $8.99 (AAA)
*$.29/battery for AA or $.37/battery for AAA.  This is decent, I generally try to match any grocery/drugstore prices with these Costco prices.  I would pick some up if you are low as battery deals don’t come around all the time.

Honey Bunches of Oats (48 oz) on sale $4.99 (limit 2)
*This works out to about $1.30 per traditional-sized box that you would buy in the grocery store

Kashi GoLean Cereal (51 oz) on sale $6.49 (limit 2)
*This works out to about $1.62 per traditional-sized box, which is decent for Kashi

Stay’s Pita Chips on sale $3.79 (no limit)
*I think this is a good price, as these are the huge bags!

Crunchmaster Multi-Grain Crackers on sale $5.99 (limit 5)

Pam Cooking Spray (2/12 oz) on sale $4.89 (limit 2)

Izze Sparkling Juice (24 ct) on sale $11.24 (limit 3)

*Just $.96 each, good price for the big bottles

Welch’s White Grape Cherry Juice (2/96 oz) on sale $5.79 (limit 2)
*Just $.03/ounce, which is a stock-up price in my book

Palermo’s Pizzas (3/12″) on sale $7.99 (no limit)
*Just $2.66 per 12″ pizza, which is WAY less than having it delivered

Jarslberg Norwegian Swiss Cheese Wedge $2.50 off total unit price (limit 2)
*This was $4.49/lb at my local store, so any discount is going to make it a great price

Costco Chicken Alfredo with Penne Pasta $3 off per package (no limit)
*These were all around $15 at my local store and they make SO much

Liquid Plumr (2/80 oz) priced at $9.99
Use $2.50/1 coupon from home mailer (limit 5)
$7.49 each after coupon
*Just $3.74 per BIG bottle, this is a good price for this product as it doesn’t go on sale all that often

Use $2/1 coupon from home mailer (limit 5)
As low as $5.99 after coupon

$10.29 after coupon or $.03/wipe

Charmin Toilet Paper (30 ct) priced at $16.99
Use $2/1 coupon from home mailer (limit 1)
$14.99 after coupon or less than $.02 per square foot

Bounty Paper Towels priced at $19.99

Scoop Away Cat Litter (42 lb) priced at $11.69
Use $2.50/1 coupon from home mailer
$9.19 each after coupon
*Just $.22/lb.  To be honest, I just buy it at Costco no matter what, so I don’t know if it’s a great deal although the per pound price seems reasonable.  We like the litter and the packaging is great!

Q-Tips (1875 ct) priced at $8.99
Use $2.50/1 coupon from home mailer (limit 3)
$6.49 each after coupon
*Around $2.16 per 600-ct package

Use $3/1 coupon from home mailer (limit 2)
$10.49 each after coupon or $1.75/item
*I know this isn’t free or super cheap like we can often get at the drugstore, but honestly it’s not bad in this quantity.  Especially if you have a lot of boys in your house.

Kirkland Signature Diapers priced at $36.99
Use $5/1 coupon from home mailer (limit 2)
$31.99 after coupon
*Works out to just $.15/diaper for size 3, which is pretty good if your stockpile is running low

{MEDICINE DEALS}
*I wanted to do some comparison pricing on a few of the medicine deals in the ad, just to see if they were comparable to what we can find at the drugstore on a good sale.

Allegra Allergy Tablets (90 ct, 180 mg) on sale $28.99 (limit 1)
*Through March 10th at Rite Aid, you can get the Allegra 45-count for $13.99 after coupons and +UP Rewards.  At this price, you would pay $27.98 for a 90-count, but you would pay more out of pocket and have +UP Rewards left to spend.  This is totally comparable!

Zyrtec (100 ct, 10 mg) on sale $31.69 (limit 4)
*The last time I noted these at Rite Aid, they were $13 for the 30-count package.  At that price, they would be $.43/tablet, at Costco they are $.32/tablet.

Aller-Tec (365 ct, comparable to Zyrtec) on sale $12.79 (limit 4)
*This works out to less than $.04/tablet.  My husband made the switch to these this year as his normal allergy medicine went OTC and has had ZERO problems. There is also a coupon for the Allerfex, which I think is a generic for Allegra, but I missed the price on that one.

What will I be picking up?

There are several items this month that are on my “If I can’t find a decent deal, I’ll just buy at Costco” list, like the Bounty, Charmin, the sponges, dryer sheets and batteries.  I’m pretty well stocked on these for now, but I thought I would mention that I do think these are great prices.

Since our family is on The Great Pantry Challenge this month ($17/week for our grocery budget), I’m going to push my Costco trip to the end of the month.  When I do go, I’ll be grabbing the Liquid Plumr (I can NEVER find deals on this), the cat litter and possibly the Izze Juice to set aside for my son’s birthday party.  I’m also contemplating the Glad ForceFlex trash bags, as I mentioned above, they are the only ones I will use anymore.  We will also be grabbing an extra bottle of my husband’s allergy medication, can’t beat the price!

I recently updated my Pantry/Household Stock-Up List with tons of Costco prices.  If you are looking for a specific price or looking to compare a Costco price with what I consider a stock-up price, definitely check out the list.

What will you be picking up this month?

Regarding the liquid plumr deal, You can buy a small snakey thing at home depot, lowes or even wallys for @ $3.00. They are about 18 inches long, made of flexable plastic with pointy things and fit easily into your shower and sink drains. Chemical free and septic safe. I’ve been using mine for over 6 years problem free with 4 long haired girls in the family I promise you won’t be disappointed. Yes the litter is the best! Great price as well. Thank you for the match-ups!

Do you know the price for Quaker Bars from the booklet?

I included all the prices I had, so I don’t have the prices for the Clorox or Quaker. I don’t even remember seeing Quaker in the booklet, I must have totally missed it!
