I struggled this week finding any deals I was really excited about at Albertsons. I know everyone is excited about 5 days of Twice the Value coupons, but there just wasn’t anything we needed. Once I got the physical ad in today’s paper, I noticed that Red Star yeast strips were only $.97 each, which I hadn’t seen on any of the match ups. That got me excited, I used up the last of my yeast during our Freezer Cooking Day.
Here’s what I did:
Transaction 1:
(5) Hershey’s Baking Chips $1.69
Coffee-mate Creamer (32 oz) $2.69
Used (2) $1/2 Hershey”s coupons from 11/13 SS insert
Used $.55/1 Coffee-mate coupon
Used (3) Twice the Value coupons (deducted $5.10)
$6.04 after coupons or $1 each
Transaction 2:
(4) Red Star Yeast Strips (3 pack) $.97
Used (2) $.55/2 coupons from 11/13 SS insert
Used (2) Twice the Value coupons (deducted $2.20)
$.42 each after coupons
And now I’ve officially forbidden myself from buying any more baking chips.
This is the best price I have seen all year on yeast and it couldn’t have come at a better time. If you noticed, I only used 5 Twice the Value coupons. I could not for the life of me come up with one more thing I wanted to get. It was sad, but I just couldn’t bring myself to buy something we didn’t need or want, just to use it. It’s sitting in my purse, just in case some amazing deal comes up in the next few days.
Have you done your Albertsons shopping today? I’d love to hear what you got, since I wasn’t very inspired.

I had a random $1/1 Dole salad coupon, doubled gave me a free bag of salad. I also did the Tyson Anytyzers for $0.50 a box. I thaw them and cut them up and throw them in salad for lunch. The buffalo chicken is soooo good with ranch!
I also did chicken broth (about $0.50 a can) and cream of chicken soup (about $0.25 a can). I had a few added bonuses. I hit 5000 points, so I got $5 reward, which I used to buy the broth. And my store was printing out coupons to get free items when you spend $10 or more in a single transaction. I got 2 dozen eggs and a pound of baby carrots for free . Altogether I spent less than $8 OOP
