Giveaway: The Boogie Monster Dance Kit (children’s book and CD)

by Melody on September 6, 2011

I was recently sent “The Boogie Monster Dance Kit” by Josie Bissett to review from Live Inspired by Compendium.  The kit came with a gorgeously illustrated book, boogie legs and a full-length CD with songs by Recess Monkey.

The book alone is fun, colorful and totally hilarious.  You don’t even realize while you’re reading that it is telling you what to do and how to dance.  I could never figure out why our 3-year old kept sitting up in bed and nodding his head when we were reading, until I realized that the book was telling him to bow.  He has worn the leg warmers to bed on more than one occasion.

Everything about the book and CD are meant to inspire activity.  They are so interactive and you can’t help but get up and do ridiculous dance moves with your kids.  We love to read to our kids every day, but it is infinitely more fun to read and dance at the same time.

Check out all the fun you could be having if you had this book.  Please don’t be jealous of our dance moves, we are all classically trained.

Josie Bissett also wrote The Tickle Monster, which Emilie says is fabulous.

I have two favorite kids books right now…all time has got to be Love You Forever…my babies singing the words to the ‘chorus’ along with me has got to be one of the sweetest sounds in the world. We have another favorite right now though, called All the Places to Love by Patricia Maclachlan (http://www.amazon.com/All-Places-Love-Patricia-Maclachlan/dp/0060210982/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1315345800&sr=8-1)
It is just beautiful and, even though we read it almost every night, I still get a little teary eyed each time. :)
