Amazon: Jillian Michael’s 30-Day Shred just $6.72

by Melody on July 24, 2011

I just posted about Phase Two of my 2011 fitness goals.  I used Jillian Michael’s 30-Day Shred for the first six months of the year and have just moved on to P90X.

I wanted to give you a heads up that Amazon has the 30-Day Shred DVD on sale right now for $6.72.  This is the lowest price I have seen it since I started the work out.  If you have been on the fence about ordering, now is a great time!

A few quick reasons why I recommend this workout:

It’s super quick. At most, it’s 25 minutes with stretching and cool down. I can squeeze it in to an episode of Phineas and Ferb and everyone in the house is happy.

It’s super effective. She makes really good use of those 25 minutes and it’s over before you know it.

In six months, I dropped from 152 pounds to 135 pounds. I have not been 135 pounds since probably my freshman year of high school. I have muscles in places I didn’t even know I had muscles.

One disclaimer: There are some high-impact moves in this workout. She has two gals in the video with her and one does lower impact moves. Follow along with her if you have trouble. My mom does the lower impact moves and she still finds the workout really effective.

?? Is the 30 day shred more of a cardio workout or mostly muscle–I’ve been slacking on my muscle workout but still run or take spin class everyday so I don’t really need anymore cardio???

It’s a little bit of everything, 3 minutes of strength (plyo, weights, etc), 2 minutes of cardio and 1 minute of abs. Three circuits of that repeated.

If you’re looking for straight muscle, this may not be the way to go, although I did gain a lot of muscle back when I started. In the 2nd and 3rd level (there are 3 total), you do use weights a lot more and you could easily add them to most of the exercises.

Also, if you did the $5 Instant Video Credit credit by following Amazon on twitter, you can get this for FREE, because it’s only $4.99 on the Instant Video! If you have one of the TV’s that have apps (like Samsung’s Yahoo! app) you can stream this straight to your TV and watch it right after purchasing it! Going to go work out now!
