I broke my (mostly) hard and fast personal rule of NEVER going to the store for just one deal or one item, especially with kids in tow. I have been purposely ignoring the Safeway cereal deal for a few days, but it’s been driving me a little crazy. Finally today, I gave in. The whole drive there I just knew they were going to be out of everything and I was going to kick myself. I promised my kids a trip to the farmer’s market after Safeway, so we at least had something to look forward to.
However, today must have been my day.
I started out with one Cars 2 code that I received as a bonus from Kellogg’s, so I only needed three to submit for $5 in concession cash or a gas card. I’m pretty sure I found the last three specially marked boxes.
Here’s what I did:
Bought (3) Frosted Flakes $2.49 each
Bought (2) Raisin Bran $2.49 each
Used $1/3 any Kellogg’s (6-5 RP insert)
Used (2) .70/1 Raisin Bran coupons
Paid $10.05, received free movie ticket and will submit for $5 concession cash
I did take a few different coupons, just in case they didn’t have the varieties I was looking for. There are a few additional printables here that will work or there was a $1/2 Raisin Bran coupon in the 6/12 RP insert.
This is such a fantastic deal, even if you can’t find the Cars 2 boxes. The price of a movie ticket alone is around $8 or $9, so for the price you would have already paid to see a movie, you also get five boxes of cereal.

I got Cocoa Crispies and Frosted Flakes, both with Cars codes and also got the movie tickets! I was trying to work in the Kellogg rebate as well but THOSE kinds didn’t have Cars codes. Oh well, one movie ticket basically paid for my cereal!
I got Raisin Bran and Rice Crispies – cereals that we eat all the time. We were running low, so it was stock up time for me. I special ordered with my store, and got the Cars 2 codes on the Rice Crispies. In the end, I got 20 boxes of cereal for 40 cents per box, plus 4 movie tickets – and better than that – a husband who was AMAZED!
I braved the cereal deal as well and it worked out great! I bought 5 Rice Krispies, all at $2.49 each. Used 2 coupons and got a movie ticket. Then repeated the transaction. Some sites were reporting that the CARS codes were not on the $2.49 boxes (only the larger ones), but I found them on the smaller boxes as well and my safeway was well stocked. So I will be able to submit for 2 prepaid cards also – Woo hoo!
I’ve now bought 3 sets of 5 boxes and going back before Tuesday for a 4th set. It’s just too good to pass up the free movie ticket and $5 Cars2 Cash. Prices for adult tickets at our theater are now $10.25 each!!
I’ve found Cars2 codes on the smaller sizes of Cocoa Krispies, Frosted Flakes and Frosted Mini-Wheats. The Mini-Wheats are .50 more per box, but I think the extra fiber is worth it!
