by Melody on April 5, 2011

Check out this deal scenario from Hip 2 Save and Frugal Friends:

Purchase:
(6) Hershey’s, Reese’s or Cadbury Easter candy 8-10 oz $2.44
(2) Hershey’s Snapsy Snap-Apart bunny $1.99
(2) Cadbury single eggs .88

Subtotal: $20.38
- (2) $1/3 Hershey’s, Reese’s or Cadbury (4-3 SS)
- $1/2 Hershey’s centerpiece items 2 oz or larger (4-3 SS)
Stack with .50/2 Cadbury eggs Video Values coupon here
Pay $16.88 out of pocket

Receive (3) $1 +UP Rewards AND $10 +UP Reward for spending $20 on participating candy products

Bottom line: Just $3.88 for ALL items!

A few things to keep in mind from reading the comments on Hip 2 Save:

* You don’t have to buy everything in one transaction, this is tracking on the bottom of your receipt.

* The Snapsy bunnies and Cadbury eggs are ringing up with your Wellness+ discount, so you may have to add in a few additional items to get over the $20 threshold.

Thanks Hip 2 Save and Frugal Friends!

I did this deal yesterday with a few changes. I also used the $1/2 Hershey's Miniatures VV coupon from this month. I have a 20% discount so I bought 4 Cadbury eggs, 2 Snapsy bunnies, 4 bags of Reese's eggs, and 2 bags of Hershey's miniatures–and got back three $1 Ups and the $10 Up reward :) Now I have to hide it all from myself!!

I was in RA this morning starting at the Easter candy (they had a lot), but I eventually decided not to get any. My kids are both under 3 and my husband really isn't into sweets, so I would have ate them all. I have no willpower. :)

Thanks for the scenario. I snagged the candy and plan on sharing it with my sister in laws because I do not need that many sweets! Great deal though!
