I'm having trouble finding the Nexxus coupon you linked to. . .is it in a certain category?

Melody March 26, 2011 at 2:23 pm

Sorry Kelly, I should clarify. The March Video Values coupons are still up right now until 9 PM tonight. Sometime around midnight tonight, the April coupons will become available and the Nexxus one will show up.

I tried to list which coupons were for March (watch those now!) and then you'll have to watch the April videos first thing in the morning.

Thanks for all the work you do! I love your blog!

Hi, I have a question. I know the price you must meet for the UP rewards is calculated before coupons but is it based on the regular price of the items or the sale price?

Thank you so much for your blog! I started my couponing adventure learning from you and I'm now pretty into it. I'm doing a lot of my own match ups, saving at least 50% on every shopping trip (always more at Rite Aid!) and actually have people asking me for help (I direct them here of course)!

Thanks Jessie and Kim, very sweet comments!

Jessie – It has always been my experience that the +UP Reward total is based on the sale price. When an included item is regular price and you have your Wellness+ discount, the +UP Reward will print based on the after-discount price. Does that make sense?

okay so I am SO new to this and a little slow…can I go to rite aid right now and do this:
buy (2)Aveeno Daily Moisturizing Lotion 2.5 oz $3.49
-BOGO 50% and use (2)- $1/1 Aveeno Daily Moisturizing lotion 12 or 18 oz printable
then buy Aveeno Baby Soothing Relief 5.69 and use – $1/1 Aveeno Baby Soothing Relief printable
making my final OTOP 7.93 and my reciept will print with a $5 up+ reward I can use on my next purchase? And I can use that for any purchase totally at least $5 and the Up+ reward is like a store coupon that can be doubled with a Manufacture Coupon? Trying really hard to wrap my brain around this coupon thing! Thanks

Jessie_Klindworth March 27, 2011 at 7:19 pm

Okay, thanks. I thought it was based on the after sale/wellness discount price, but I had an unexpected $10 UP print the other day and I'm not sure where it came from. I was trying to figure out if it was from the price total pre sale pushing me into a second UP reward, or just a promotion I wasn't even aware of. Oh well, don't look a gift horse in the mouth I guess :)

Melody March 27, 2011 at 8:32 pm

Jessie – Did you buy any Naturemade vitamins in that transaction? There was a Heart Healthy promo that was tracking all month, you may have just been on the threshold and something in that transaction pushed you over?

There were some other participating items too, like select toothpastes and a few other medicines.

Melody March 28, 2011 at 1:36 am

mommybarnhart – Your scenario looks good, the only thing you wouldn't be able to do is use the $1/1 Aveeno 12 or 18 oz, since you would be buying a smaller size.

You could still do the scenario without using the coupons, pay $9.93 and receive a $5 +UP Reward. Still a good deal for Aveeno!

And yes, the +UP Reward can be used on anything (with a few exclusions like tobacco, stamps, etc). Treat it kind of like a gift card, but you must spend $5 or more to use it. You can stack it with as many coupons as you want.

Hope that answers your questions!

Jessie March 28, 2011 at 3:48 am

Yeah, I did get vitamins. I don't remember even hearing about the "heart health" promotion. Mystery solved!

That actually leads me to another question tho. Can one item go towards two different rewards? Say my vitamins paired with the asprin I bought on a previous transaction to make the "heart health" BUT those asprin already counted towards that Bayer/Aleve/One a Day UP…could it be counted for both?

Reply

Melody March 28, 2011 at 3:58 am

I promoted the heart healthy promo several weeks back when they had some fabulous overlapping promotions and then I kind of forgot about it. I remember seeing that it was good through the end of last week, so knew that must be it!

As to your second question, definitely! I don't think there are any this week that I could use as an example, but you can get individual +UP Rewards as well as a "group" Reward. Hope that makes sense!

Paula Adams Perez March 28, 2011 at 4:19 am

The details of the "Heart Healthy" deal are in the March Single Check Rebate flyer (available in the store). It was not just Nature Made supplements, but a whole list of health-related stuff. I had bought a bunch of Nature Made and received the first $10 +Up, and then later tipped the scales and received the second $10 +Up when I got a free Reach toothbrush (which wasn't even on the deal list, but I guess it's a Listerine brand so it worked). Sometimes there are nice surprises!

Jessie_Klindworth March 28, 2011 at 7:54 am

Yes Melody that totally makes sense. Thanks so much for taking the time for this personal tutoring! And Paula, I think that's pretty much what happened with me too. I bought all the Bayer and one a days and got that UP and then the Nature Mades must've pushed me over into the second surprise UP!

How can you tell what you have met for a UP reward that is accumulating across transactions over the month like the health healthy promo? Do all UP rewards accumulate such as the current Lysol deal?

Reply

Melody March 29, 2011 at 1:10 pm

Anon – They actually just starting tracking rewards on your receipt (like for the Lysol deal). If I remember right, you had no way of knowing for the heart healthy promo where you were at until your rewards printed. Surprise! :)

I'm assuming all the rewards have starting tracking now, but I'm not 100% sure. We'll just have to keep an eye out over the next few weeks.

I got the healthy hear $10 +Up last week after my RA shopping trip – it was a very pleasant surprise!

What qualifies you for the 20% wellness discount? Thanks!!

Reply

Melody March 30, 2011 at 2:03 pm

Julie – You get your 20% discount when you hit 1000 Wellness+ points. You earn one point for every dollar spent and 25 points for every prescription filled. It's been my experience that they count your "dollars spent" including manufacturer's coupon, as I hit mine early last year and there is no way I spent $1000 out of pocket. :)

If you hit the level last year, it carried over until the end of 2011.

I wrote a post here with a few more details: http://www.beautifulfrugallife.com/2010/03/rite-aid-wellness-program-rolling-out.html

Hope that helps!
