RESTAURANT.COM: HOW IT WORKS

by Melody on January 2, 2010

Never used Restaurant.com before?  It is our family’s favorite way to save money and still be able to eat out at fun places.  All you have to do is enter in your zip code and all the participating restaurants in your area will pop up, along with the available gift certificate denominations.  You can purchase as many as you want and can print them immediately from the site or have them sent to you via email.  I usually stock up when they are priced low, the certificates are good for one year from date of purchase, so plenty of time to use.

My FAVORITE restaurant in our area that is available on Restaurant.com is Ice Harbor Brewery.  I dream about their Tangerine beer..  Especially when I am pregnant. :)  Another fun idea is to check the site when you are out of town.  We found a great restaurant in Spokane while we were staying up there and were able to print at the concierge desk.

A few things to note about these gift certificates.. There is generally a required minimum purchase.  For example, most $25 gift certificates require a $25 minimum purchase, so you will spend a little out of pocket.  18% gratuity is automatically built in to your check as well.  It does say in the fine print that it is up to the restaurant whether alcohol will be included, but we have used these several times with no problem.

Don’t forget to shop through Ebates to get an additional 15% cash back on your purchase.

*New to Ebates?  Go here to sign up for a free account, search for your favorite store, click through to their website and shop away.  Your account will be credited cash back after a few days.  Plus, you will receive $5 in your account just for signing up!
